What will make you successful in this position?
- Recognised Qualification in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Health and Safety.
- 8 years’ total professional experience.
- 2 years’ experience in safety matters relating to wastewater treatment plants or construction.
- High level of computer literacy, ideally with experience of using quality management reporting systems and an ability to analyze data with a capacity for critical thinking and root cause analysis.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills and good observation skills.
What will be your mission?
To be responsible for the management and control of all Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects of the contract. This will include all site activities for contactor staff and third-party personnel carrying out work on behalf of the contractor. They will be responsible for the control of the site safety plan and all safety-based training.
Some of your functions will be:
1. Identify and assess H&S risk and encourage all staff to report risk and issues.
2. Development of Safety Plans, policies, and procedures to allow ISO accreditation.
3. Monitor and report H, S, and E factors and create plans to minimize H&S issues and environmental impact on the surrounding area.
4. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and development of processes and procedures.
5. Respond to and report any H&S or E incidents or occurrences.
6. Work with the General Manager to enable delivery of staff H&S & E training to aid staff development.
7. Complete all HSEQ reporting requirements.
8. Initiate and sustain a system of Toolbox Talks to educate and assist development of employees and Contractors and encourage an open and honest dialogue around processes on site.
