What will make you successful in this position?
- Chemistry Degree Required
- 8 years’ total professional experience.
- 5 years’ experience in lab testing of wastewater and biosolids.
- Experience in an overseas environment working with a multi-national workforce and management team would be preferable.
- Experience of testing and analyzing samples in a quality regulated environment and experience in an accredited laboratory.
- High level of computer literacy, ideally with experience of using LIMs reporting systems.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
- Complementary requirement: Spanish.
What will be your mission?
To be responsible for the operation of the WRRP laboratory facilities and any WIC laboratory facilities which are developed subsequently.
Some of your functions will be:
1.Delivering laboratory analysis to the required standards and schedules to facilitate plant operation, contract performance and delivery.
2.Setting up procedures and processes in line with ISO accreditation requirements and or other appropriate standards
3.Providing appropriately trained resources to deliver testing and analysis to the required standards.
4.Outsourcing specialist analyses as required or for the verification of in-house services.
5.Assisting with the development and maintenance of effective performance measures, trends and reporting of operational KPIs
6.Record keeping and development of a simple Laboratory Management System to track and record all samples, analyses, and results.
7.Ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained effectively, available as needed and validated for operation.
8.Maintenance calibration and testing regime in place and carried out for all site and process instrumentation, sampling and monitoring equipment.
9.Maximizing throughput and operational efficiency of the lab to support all customers, whether internal or linked with future developments such as the WIC.
10. Create an environment of continuous improvement, proactively reviewing and identifying areas for development.
Experience of sampling and testing of R&D trials, including developing sampling programs.
